Here you can download the Active Class teaching method cards. In a 59MB zip-file you will find 24 files containing 89 teaching methods that you can use in your classroom.

The folder structure of this zip file is as follows:

In the folder “Teaching method cards” you’ll find two folders:

  1. All cards, this is a folder with pdf files of all teaching method cards, divided over the several phases of a lesson and lesson categories.
  2. Printable files, in this folder you’ll find a large pdf file with all the teaching cards in it. Print this file double sided on 300 grams paper and you can create your own physical card game.

In the folder  “Worksheets” you’ll find various worksheets that belong to various teaching methods.

The teaching method cards are divided over 5 categories:

Start up: These are teaching methods that you could use at the beginning of your lesson or lessoncycle. These teaching methods test the prior knowledge of the students and set the scope for the upcoming lesson(s).

Acquiring: These are teaching methods that help students to acquire new know-ledge in an active way, other than the teacher telling them the information or letting them read the information from a textbook.

Processing: These are teaching methods that let students process the newly

acquired knowledge by letting them create something using this knowledge.

Round up: These are teaching methods that can be used at the end of a lesson or at the end of a lessoncycle. Letting students reflect on what they have learned and how they have learned this. Also giving you an insight as a teacher on what the students really learned and what could maybe use some more attention.

Energizing: These are energizers that can be used throughout the lessons to let students refresh themselves and regain their energy during the lesson.
